“The star of Teatral” award occurred in 2008. The readers of “Teatral” magazine chose by theirselves the best actors, stage directors, the best theatres and performances.
In 2009 the award found its own symbol – the porcelain statuette “Piero”. The idea of this character and producing of the draft belongs to Palladio Interiors holding, the sketches were designed by Italian designer and architect Fabricio Smania. Statuette was produced by Rudolf Kampf manufactory under the guidance of Peter Kotera – Art-Director of the factory. The statuette is made of top-quality porcelain and decorated with 24-carat gold.
The number of casting is limited by the number of nominations, that rises the value of the award.
The solemn ceremony of awarding took place on the 7 of December at the Big Hall of Yablochkina Central Actors House.
The award was bestowed in 10 different nominations: “The best solo”, “The best improvisation”, “The best one-man performance” and so on. A number of celebrated people of art picked up a special award for the talent and hard work – “The legend of the stage”. It was bestowed to those, whose names will stay put in the history of Russian culture without voting. This year Oleg Basilashvili and Elina Bistritskaya were awarded in this nomination.
Valentine Gaft, Marina Aronova, Alexander Filippenko, Alexander Shirvindt ont other famous actors picked up the porcelain statuettes “Piero”, which is a symbol of audience love. Now this is the annual award.
The chairman of “Uralsib” financial corporation, Nikolay Tsvetkov, was awarded in the nomination “Art patron of the year” for the generous support of Russian theatre arts.
